Meet Sharcupine, the first Fusimal™ to be formally introduced to the world.

What is a Fusimal you ask?

FUSIMAL [fyooz-uh-muhl]
–noun
any vertebrate of the class fusimalia, having a body with two distinctive halves fused together in the center.
Appearance varies—some fusimals are predominantly covered with hair, others with feathers, and others with scales.
With the exception of the egg-laying monotremes, they give birth to live young.
Offspring rarely resemble the parents.
In urban legend, they are often described as monsters—genetic design gone too far. In fact, they are unique, loving creatures created out of a passion for merging anomalous qualities into heretofore unimagined greatness.

LACMA Muse’s annual Costume Ball coincided with the exhibition Fashioning Fashion this year, which offered Muse the perfect motif for their night of fancy dress. With hand-beaded type (by way of a mouse… and a bit of eye strain) and an embroidered skull, our invitation set the tone for the ghostly Victorian-themed party.

LACMA’s Young Directors Night (YDN) is upon us again. For this year’s invite we kept the Pop Art theme going and gave our signature popcorn box a Claes Oldenburg inspired makeover. For details on YDN 2010 (because you all should go) visit: http://bit.ly/dhpu4Z
